01-09-07 www. MySuperProposal.com thinks he'll be proposing to his girlfriend in an ad during Super Bowl 41. Back in September he started raising money to try to buy a 2-1/2 million :30 ad during the Super Bowl, which he planned to use to record a proposal to the one he loves. He quickly found that raising that kind of cash from strangers on the Internet would be tough. He's brought in about $100,000, but that's not nearly enough. So that cash will be donated to charity and now he's close to signing a deal with an advertiser interested in sponsoring him. He's hoping to sign some paperwork today (Tuesday) or tomorrow.

1-23-07 TECH UPDATE To run the basic version, Microsoft says you need "a modern processor (at least 800 MHz)," 512 MB of system memory and a graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable - that's most PCs in use today. To run the Premium edition you'll need at least a 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of system memory, support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory and something called Pixel Shader 2.0 (technology in your
graphics card that can render surface properties images including lighting and shadows along with 3-D images). You'll also need at least a 40 GB hard drive with 15 GB free space, a DVD-ROM drive, audio output, and an Internet
connection. That sounds like a lot of hardware, but almost all machines being sold today qualify, assuming you opt for at least 1 gigabyte of memory.
