04-22-02 There are certain files and applications that you use more than others. In Windows you can create a shortcut on your desktop for quick access to these files and applications. As with most things in Windows, there are a number of different ways to create a shortcut. Creating shortcuts

1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Single-click the program or file you want to make a shortcut for.
3. Press and hold down Shift and Ctrl at the same time.
4. Keep Shift and Ctrl held down while dragging the program or file icon to the desktop or to a folder. While dragging the file or program to your desktop you should notice a little curled arrow appear. That indicates a shortcut.
5. Release and the shortcut appears.

04-19-02 A file association is something Windows uses to figure out which program should open a particular file. You can change a file association permanently, or for only one instance. You can change the default file association with these simple steps:

1. Single-click a file.
2. Hold the Shift key while right-clicking the file.
3. Select "Open With..."
4. Select a program.
5. Place a checkmark next to "Always use this program to open this type of file" if you want to permanently change its file association. Otherwise, this will be a one-time solution.
6. Click OK.

04-18-02 Xteq X-Shooter 1.0 - shoot holes in your Windows Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2 Screenshot 3 Xteq X-Shooter is a little funny program that allows you to shoot holes through any window. It was developed while researching a complicated Windows API function and has absolutely no meaning whatsoever :-). When started, every left mouse click is captured by X-Shooter and if a window (AKA program) is detected at the current position, X-Shooter will make a hole in it and play a sound. Download Xteq X-Shooter

04-16-02 What's a webpager?
Webpager 2.0 is a small desktop tool that I created to speed up my web research. It's a simple program created in Macromedia's Flash 5 that speeds up the searching process by taking you immediately to the results page of any search engine first - which is what you want. Is it hard to use? Webpager 2.0 is easy to use - and even easier thanks to Qarbon's nifty Viewlets software.

04-12-02 The Dryden Flight Research Center, located at Edwards, California, is NASA's primary installation for flight research. Projects at Dryden over the past 50 years have lead to major advancements in the design and capabilities of many civilian and military aircraft. The history of the Dryden Flight Research Center is the story of modern flight research in this country. Since the pioneering days after World War II, when a small, intensely dedicated band of pilots, engineers, and technicians dared to challenge the "sound barrier" in the X-1, Dryden has been on the leading edge in aeronautics and, more recently, in space technology. The newest, the fastest, the highest - all have made their debut in the vast, clear desert skies over Dryden. Then take a look at the History of Flight page.

04-11-02 Bernoulli's Principle Concerning flight, Bernoulli's Principle has to do with the shape of an airplane's wing. The bottom is flat, while the top is curved. Air travels across the top and bottom in the same time, so air travels slower on the bottom (creating more pressure) and faster on top (creating less pressure). This supposedly keeps the plane in the air.

04-09-02 Advanced-fee loans/credit repair. If you need a loan for a new car or house but your credit rating is bad, some scam artists say you can get that loan if you pay them a processing fee ($40 to $70.) Unfortunately, there is no magic that can repair your credit. You simply have to pay your bills on time until late payments are so far in the past that lenders are willing to ignore them. If you've partially recovered, find a mortgage broker to help you obtain financing. There are lenders who are willing to talk to people whose credit isn't the greatest. Check www.namb.org <http://www.namb.org/>, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers' Web site, for a referral in your area.

04-02-02 SpeedFX was started in 1995 on the premise of giving NASCAR fans coverage that could not be found elsewhere, without cutting out any of the controversy... like most sites do.Originally known as "Winston Cup Online" in 1995, the name was changed to "Speedworld" in 1997. On Nov. 1, 1999, we began a new era of coverage and changed our name to SpeedFX.SpeedFX is now a part of the RacingOne online community of auto-racing web sites, which all live by the motto, "Filters are for oil, not for racing news." That means we don't allow the sanctioning bodies, sponsors or teams dictate what we can and can't publish.
